MAzda CX-7 2.2 D arrives in the UK in November It’s a decent car – the Mazda CX-7 – it just doesn’t sell all that wonderfully well. A bit like the Mazda3, which should really be up there with the Focus and Golf  in sales terms but isn’t. With the Mazda3 there wasn’t that much to fix, but the CX-7, very competent though it was, had a fault or two.

The now independent brand is teasing motor show visitors with a styling buck of the One-77 (the ultra-exclusive £1.2 million supercar that’ll be limited to a run of, yep, 77 when it arrives in 2009) that reveals just its front right and rear left aspects, plus there’s an automatic DBS on display and talk of exciting future Aston Martin projects. Call for ban on in-car hands-free phones

Road safety charity Brake is calling for a blanket ban on in-car hands-free phone systems. Using a hand-held phone while driving is already illegal in the UK, so a proposal to prohibit even hands-free kits would completely eradicate calling from behind the wheel.
